Career Path: "I started out as a child care worker at residential treatment center for adolescents in New York. I moved on to medical school to become a psychiatrist that is specialized in adolescent and adult care."

Work Places: Crisis Services of Milwaukee County, Medical College of Wisconsin, and office based practice.

Therapeutic Techniques: I believe that the most important thing is to help people talk about what is really troubling them, and to decide together what will be the best treatment.

Life Dream: To travel around the world!

Career Path: "I became a psychologist in 1986. From the beginning I felt that trauma issues were very much overlooked in psychotherapy. For the past 18 years, I have studied trauma and worked with traumatized patients. Understanding trauma has helped me understand all types of mental health."

Work Places: I am currently the president and owner of APC and previously worked at Rogers Memorial Hospital.

Therapeutic Techniques: Trauma resolution, EMDR, and body/mind awareness.

Career Path: "I have been a licensed Psychologist since 1987 and have specialized in the field of trauma and dissociation. My affiliations include active membership of Roger's Memorial Hospital Medical staff, American Psychological Consultation, and certification by the National Health Service Providers. I have spent many years developing and running hospital treatment programs for children, adolescents, and adult victims of abuse. I am the clinical supervisor for all of APC's therapists. We strive to provide a continuous learning environment for our agency, and this has created a high quality staff."

Life Dream: To raise awareness in mental health system of the role and effects of trauma on local minority youth.

Career Path: "I began this work with mentoring a struggling youth for fun and he touched my heart in unexpected ways. From that point forward I was determined to help as many of the hurt youth in our Milwaukee area as possible. Every job since that time has been focused on helping youth."

Work Places: Lad Lake School for Boys in Walworth County, Prevention Program, and Ethan Allen School for Boys.

Therapeutic Techniques: Cognitive-behavioral, motivational enhancement experiential, healing through metaphors, and emotional freedom technique.

Life Dream: To develop Wisconsin's best Wilderness Program for youth.

Career Path: "My goal is to learn more effective ways of treating traumatized individuals, as well as creative play therapy techniques for young children."

Life Dream: My life dream is to train and work with animals in animal assisted therapy. My goal is to expand to work by pairing people with animals for therapeutic purposes.

Career Path: "I have recently completed my doctoral training in clinical psychology. I have worked primarily with adolescents and adults with diverse and often complex mental health issues in a variety of clinical settings. My clinical and research interests include trauma, forensics, severe mental illness, and the impact of stress on emotional and physical well-being."

Work Places: Aurora Behavioral Health Services, Saint Lukes South Shore, and numerous practicum placements during my clinical training and internship.

My areas of interest lie in marriage and family therapy and targeting the Latino population. "

Life Dream: My life dream is to someday obtain my Ph.D and publish a book.

Career Path: "I hope to finish my Masters degree in Social Work by June 2007 and work with couples and families with alcohol and other drug issues."

Work Places: I have been a stay at home mother for 11 years. I received my degree and have been at Alternatives as an intern and now an employee.

Therapeutic Techniques: I utilize reality and motivational techniques most often with teens.

Life Dream: My dream is to be a good mother, wife, and therapist.



Chris ZamoraCristobel Zamora, MSW, LCSW

Career Path: "I have experience working with couples, families and adults in outpatient therapy, adolescents in residential care, as well as geriatric populations within a hospital setting. I have also facilitated intensive outpatient therapy groups for adults dealing with substance abuse. Most recently, I gained experiences as a clinical case manager for a national employee assistance program."

Work Places: Southlake Center for Mental Health, St. Joseph's Home for Boys, Catholic Charities, Methodist Hospital, and Aliveness Project all located in Indiana.

Therapeutic Techniques: I utilize play therapy, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, ego-psychology, emotionally-focused and experiential approaches.
