Psychiatric Nursing Services
Alternatives in Psychological Consultation, S.C. currently serves the Milwaukee
County Detention Center by providing 80 hours per week of Psychiatric Nursing
Services. The nurses employed and supervised by Alternatives have worked
within the Detention Center since 1998. Safety of youth at the Milwaukee
County Detention Center is a primary concern of our nursing staff. Upon
intake within the detention setting the psychiatric nurses provide a mental
health screening to determine if youth are in need of immediate treatment.
Nurses provide ongoing assessment, intervention, referral, and support to
meet the mental health needs of youth within the detention milieu.
